[PROZESS-FOKUS: BORON NITRIDE LUBRICATION]
Boron Nitride Systems for Absolute Purity
Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) provides outstanding separation and thermal resistance up to 1100°C. Completely metal-free, electrically insulating, and chemically inert.
Tribology & Metallurgy
Chemical Properties of Hexagonal Boron Nitride
Hexagonal boron nitride is often referred to as 'white graphite' due to its layered lattice. However, unlike graphite, it requires no moisture films to lubricate and displays much higher oxidation limits under atmospheric air.
PROMET BN-Shield coatings act as a highly inert physical separator, preventing molten copper or aluminum from welding to tools. The thermal barrier properties also protect die steels from thermal fatigue cracking.
