PROMET PyroShield / Extru-Lube

Graphite-free, inorganic high-temperature release agents for the direct and indirect acting extrusion process. Engineered to form a microcrystalline protective barrier in the tool gap at temperatures up to 1100°C to prevent material welding (pick-up).

Tribometric Properties:

  • Thermostable release effect prevents abrasive die wear
  • Constant friction coefficients ensure homogeneous material flow in the press channel
  • Graphite-free formulation avoids carburization and scale formation

PROMET Draw-Lube

Pressure-stable forming and drawing media for the high-load sector of industrial metal forming. High-viscosity formulations with polar adhesion and zinc/chlorine-free additivation to secure hydrodynamic mixed friction.

Tribometric Properties:

  • Excellent load-carrying capacity (four-ball tester weld load according to DIN 51350)
  • Residue-free degreasing via industrial aqueous cleaning

PROMET Syn-Wax

Synthetic, solid-free and metal soap-free melt waxes specifically for drawing lines and tubes from pure copper. Developed for copper tube extrusion and subsequent drawing processes. Evaporates absolutely ash-free under shielding gas (nitrogen-hydrogen).

Tribometric Properties:

  • 100% soot and ash-free thermolysis (TGA residue = 0.00%)
  • Ensures residue-free inner surfaces according to DIN EN 1057 (brazeability)
  • Uniform surface film with low coefficient of static friction
Materials: Pure copper (SF-Cu, E-Cu)

PROMET Multi-Care (Process Aids)

Assembly pastes with inorganic solids for extreme pressure and heat loads, tool cleaning concentrates, and temporary corrosion inhibitors to ensure stable machine and press cycles.

PROMET Stick-Lube (Lubricant Sticks)

Solid lubricant and metal soap sticks formulated on a high-viscosity wax or bitumen carrier matrix for automated contact lubrication of mandrels, extrusion dies, and hot shear blades. The modulated phase transition upon tool contact ensures a precise boundary film thickness and eliminates fluid waste.

Tribometric Properties:

  • Precise application with zero aerosol emission and minimal consumption
  • Controlled melting behavior protects extrusion tools from thermal shock
  • Prevents die pick-up and material adhesion at operating temperatures up to 1000°C

PROMET Graph-Lube & BN-Shield

Liquid, pasty, and solid high-temperature dispersions utilizing highly crystalline natural graphite or hexagonal boron nitride. Forms a thermochemically inert oxygen and lubrication barrier at T > 1000°C to combat tool oxidation and cold welding.

Tribometric Properties:

  • Outstanding separation at the contact faces of mandrels and dies
  • Oxidation stability of boron nitride up to 1100°C, graphite up to 1200°C
  • Significantly reduces hydrostatic friction forces in the die bearing channel
Materials: Superalloys, titanium, and copper alloys

PROMET BitumGuard

Synthetically additived bitumen-based lubricants designed for extremely shock-loaded drive components, slide guides, and open gears in heavy extrusion presses. Superior adhesion prevents dripping at high operating temperatures and cushions severe load shocks.

  • Exceptional damping behavior during extreme load changes
  • Very high viscosity-temperature stability (no run-off or carbonizing)
